Survivors will successfully escape once they complete the third area in a level. By completing objectives such as obtaining specific items, Survivors can advance to the next area. Cooperation and coordination are vital to success. Survivors will need to use their unique skills effectively to cover each other and defeat the creatures together. The Mastermind can use cards to create all sorts of chaos including placing traps and vicious creatures on the map and weaponizing security cameras. The Mastermind can observe the Survivors’ actions through the security cameras placed all around the facility. Instead, they observe through the security cameras, setting traps to prevent their escape. The Mastermind will not face the Survivors directly. By forcing these youths into desperate situations, the Mastermind aims to gather valuable research data on how the subjects respond to fear. They secretly kidnap young people for the purpose of data gathering. Weapons picked by the survivors consist of not just firearms but melee weapons like 2x4s or Steel Bats. Each survivor has their own set of skills and a label that defines them as “Damage”, “Hacker”, “Support” and “Tank”. If they don’t get any help, the player will respawn elsewhere but a chunk of time will be lost with each death. When a survivor takes too much damage, they get in a downed stated, and a teammate can revive them if they get there in time. The Survivors must work together in order to escape the Umbrella facility within a given time limit. The Mastermind on the other hand depends on a mana system which is used to spawn new creatures, traps, or arm the CCTV camera with a machine gun. The Survivors can obtain “Umbrella Credits” during the course of each stage, which is used to purchase recovery items or new weapons. The fifth is a “Mastermind”, who can manipulate the facility, watch the others via CCTV and send mutants to fight them. Four players are “Survivors”, who are given tasks to complete while being attacked by monsters. Resident Evil: Resistance is a team-based cooperative game, with sessions consisting of a maximum of five players. The Mastermind can observe the actions of the Survivors via cameras placed at the four corners of the installation. Play as an evil Mastermind, or one of the Survivors desperately trying to escape a facility filled with traps and dangers of all kinds. With Project Resistance, Capcom offers a new online experience in the form of an asymmetrical 1v4 survival horror set in the Resident Evil universe. It involves four survivor players competing against a mastermind player who can create traps, enemies, and other hazards.
